Sonida Senior Living Inc. is a premier retirement community in Williamsville, NY, providing quality care to residents in an assisted living and memory community.

We are seeking a highly skilled People Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing requests for new personnel, ensuring all employee files comply with regulatory standards.

In this role, you will assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of new employees, coordinate general orientation for new personnel with department managers, and oversee employee performance evaluations. You will also initiate and participate in employee retention programs to maintain a positive workplace environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, and at least four years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in prior employee relations work.

You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organization skills, and knowledge of state and federal requirements and regulations. A current SPHR/PHR certification is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and process requests for new personnel, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of new employees.
  • Coordinate general orientation for new personnel with department managers.
  • Oversee employee performance evaluations.
  • Initiate and participate in employee retention programs.
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of new employees.
  • Assist Executive Director/department managers with team member grievances and/or investigations and counseling as needed.
  • Maintain mandatory postings and ensure compliance with labor regulations.
  • Ensure Relias training compliance and maintain training records for all staff.
  • Coordinate the approval of timesheets and manage communication with the centralized payroll team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • At least four years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in prior employee relations work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal requirements and regulations.
  • Current SPHR/PHR certification preferred.
