Job Summary
The Registered Nurse in the ICU plays a vital role in managing patient care, adhering to our nursing practice model. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, they ensure effective patient care delivery. Our Registered Nurses efficiently utilize the nursing process, diagnosing patient responses to health challenges and formulating appropriate care plans, including evaluating healthcare needs and responses.

Responsibilities
1. Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans to achieve desired outcomes.

2. Monitor critical indicators closely, supporting evidence-based practice through research and practical experience.

3. Foster a compassionate and secure environment for patients, families, and staff.

4. Establish professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries, focusing on alleviating emotional and physical distress to facilitate healing.

5. Promote learning among all healthcare team members, including patients and families, ensuring comprehensive understanding.

6. Collaborate with colleagues and the community to create and execute a cohesive care plan.

7. Employ problem-solving techniques and utilize available resources to assist patients, families, and staff within a systems-thinking framework.

Qualifications for Success
- Knowledge of nursing standards and patient care protocols.

- Understanding of legal requirements and standards set by certification and accreditation bodies, specific to the hospital and department/unit.

- Proficient in medical terminology, emphasizing health promotion, risk mitigation, and disease prevention.

- Strong communication skills and social aptitude for engaging with diverse stakeholders.

- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential.

- Ability to recognize and report changes in patient conditions, adapting care plans as necessary.

- Basic computer skills are required for daily tasks.

Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited nursing program or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience exceeding the basic qualifications.

Field of Study:
Nursing is the applicable major.

- A minimum of 2 years in a relevant nursing role is preferred.

Certification:
- Current BLS certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of starting in this role.

- Active Registered Nurse License.
