Regional Veterinary Operations Manager

Innovetive Petcare is seeking an experienced veterinary operations leader to join our team as a Regional Operations Manager. This is a remote position that requires residing in or being open to relocating to one of the 16 states where Innovetive currently has practice locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of an assigned portfolio of hospitals with full P&L responsibility, driving growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop business strategy and implement it effectively.
  • Create action plans, set and manage goals, delegate tasks, and track metrics to ensure success.
  • Negotiate and mediate conflicts, coach, and provide feedback to hospital leadership.
  • Assist in the development and management of Innovetive-wide initiatives.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of organizational and local practice policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper staff scheduling and optimization, assist in site labor management.
  • Analyze and interpret operational reports, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Champion and implement Innovetive initiatives throughout the region.
  • Onboard new Hospital Managers, ensuring a successful introduction to Innovetive.
  • Ensure Hospital Managers are trained in financial and operational systems and methods.
  • Mentor, coach, and set expectations with hospital leadership and staff, conducting annual performance reviews of Managing DVM and Hospital Manager.
  • P&L Management: interpret, explain, and manage the P&L statements for a hospital, providing specific coaching to the Hospital Managers to manage variable expenses.
  • Manage revenue growth, assist sites with new client acquisition and client retention efforts, and service line expansions.
  • Grow region's EBITDA in both dollars and margin expansion.
  • Achieve monthly and annual financial budgets.
  • Assist with the preparation and communication of the annual budget.
  • Supervise capital expenditures, identify and build business cases for expansions, relocations, and renovations.
  • Lead region's DVM and Support Staff recruiting in partnership with Innovetive recruiter, closing DVM and staff requisitions.
  • Makes recommendations for staff training and development.
  • Engage and develop relationships with DVM staff to support a high standard of care and ensure DVM retention.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education is required; MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of multi-state/multi-site veterinary practice management experience, with specific experience in emergency and specialty practices.
  • Work remotely and can travel up to ~75% of the time.
  • Knowledge of practice management processes, efficiencies, standards, metrics, and benchmarks.
  • Knowledge of veterinary practice management software.
