Job Responsibilities

The Corporate Accounting Manager will oversee the implementation of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to evaluate financial data, prepare financial statements, manage journal entries, and assist in budget formulation for management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring fluency in financial statements, consolidation, account analysis, reconciliations, cash flow analysis, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation, and maintaining internal controls and regulatory reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of general accounting experience, with a focus on corporate accounting.
  • Familiarity with MRI software is advantageous.
  • Experience in financial controls and auditing processes.
  • Understanding of fair housing and local real estate regulations, as applicable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; advanced skills are a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong capacity to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Analytical thinker with a knack for identifying connections and underlying reasons.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
  • Focused on process improvement and project management.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Essential Functions

The Corporate Accounting Manager will:

  • Supervise daily accounting operations, including treasury, accounts receivable, and platform-level accounting.
  • Analyze financial trends, performance metrics, and benchmarks, presenting findings to senior management.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly corporate financial reports and performance metrics.
  • Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy through document audits.
  • Prepare monthly management financials and variance reports, explaining significant discrepancies.
  • Establish and enforce policies for treasury and accounts receivable functions.
  • Identify ongoing process improvement opportunities.
  • Lead departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Key Performance Metrics

Maintain compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures while supporting special requests as needed. Execute monthly accounting close procedures, ensuring adherence to GAAP.

Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

The role may require extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be able to communicate clearly in English and have the ability to read and interpret written materials.

Physical demands include the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs, as well as the capacity to navigate multiple flights of stairs.

Employees must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while remaining focused and effective in a potentially stressful environment.
