At Portsmouth Regional Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant to join our surgical team. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of our patients. As a Registered Nurse First Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and assisting surgeons during operations. Your duties will include assessing patient conditions, monitoring vitals, and providing general nursing care before and after surgery. You will also be responsible for ensuring the Operating Room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment. Additionally, you will pass medical instruments to surgeons during operations and review charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols.Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess in-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures, including da Vinci Robot (SI), orthopedic, neuro, and general surgery. You will also need to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of employment start date, Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date, and PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of employment start date. You must also be a Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree and hold a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA), Certified First Assistant, or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFA) certification.About Us
