About the Role
As a Registered Nurse - Operating Room First Assistant at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our surgical team. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate RN to join our team, providing top-notch care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operations, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical experience for patients.
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide general nursing care before and after surgery.
- Prepare the Operating Room with necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment.
- Pass medical instruments to surgeons during operations.
- Review charts for completeness, adhering to documentation protocols prior to and after surgical procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse licensure and certification as a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA), Certified First Assistant, or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFA) are required.
