We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated RN OR First Assist to join our team at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. As a RN OR First Assist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our surgical team.

About the Role

The RN OR First Assist is responsible for assisting the surgeon during surgical procedures, ensuring the operating room is prepared with all necessary supplies and equipment, and providing general nursing care to patients before and after surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures, including passing medical instruments and maintaining a sterile environment
  • Prepare the operating room with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment
  • Provide general nursing care to patients before and after surgery, including assessing patient condition and monitoring vitals
  • Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a current RN license, in-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.
