Position Overview:

The Retail Operations Leader is accountable for achieving Sales and Profit objectives within the store by devising a strategy to provide an exceptional Customer Experience.

This role involves ensuring the development of a high-performing team, supporting their growth, and implementing structured performance management aligned with results, values, and leadership principles.

The Retail Operations Leader will operate in compliance with legal standards and H&M policies to fulfill the expectations of both customers and team members.

This position reports to the Area Sales Manager and has direct reports including the Visual Merchandising Manager (based on store volume), Department Managers, Department Supervisors (based on volume), Visual Merchandisers (based on volume), Cash Office Responsible (based on volume), and Sales Associates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales and Profit Management:
    Regularly assess and monitor Sales & Profit KPIs, taking necessary actions to optimize results.
    Ensure adherence to store operations, H&M standards, and best practices, including effective scheduling to enhance conversion rates and facilitate commercial activities (such as Sales, Events, and Routines) while delivering outstanding customer service within the allocated sales budget.
  • Team Leadership:
    Oversee recruitment, training, and development of the store team in line with H&M best practices.
    Evaluate and manage team performance, executing development plans and providing constructive feedback to enhance performance in alignment with business needs.
  • Communication and Culture:
    Facilitate regular communication with the store team regarding Business Performance, Company Culture & Values, and Store goals through daily meetings and leadership discussions.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
    Ensure that health, safety, legal, and security matters are managed according to H&M standards and local regulations, ensuring the safety of employees and customers.
Qualifications:
  • Inclusive, positive, and creative mindset with a willingness to innovate.
  • Passionate about customer service and capable of inspiring others.
  • Results-oriented with strong planning and motivational skills.
  • Physical capability to lift over 20 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Open availability, including evenings and weekends.
  • 2-3+ years of relevant management experience is preferred.
