Development Manager Corporate Relations

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Manager Corporate Relations to join our team at the National Governors Association. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic organization that supports the nation's Governors.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fundraising, corporate partnerships, and development. You will be responsible for managing the NGA Partners and Foundation Program, including prospecting, marketing, communications, solicitation, benefit fulfillment, and stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a project manager for conference-related development activities;
- Support creative and strategic outreach plans to engage prospects and NGA Partners;
- Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to plan and implement fundraising strategies;
- Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively;
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, funders, and sponsors;
- Track and maintain outgoing invoices and incoming checks/wire transfers;
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Development Officer.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2+ years of direct experience working in areas of fundraising responsibilities, foundation grants, or corporate donations;
- Experience working with Governors, federal or state agencies, or non-profit organizations is preferred;
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills;
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals;
- An optimistic outlook and a flexible, innovative approach to problem-solving;
- Strong knowledge of MS Office suite, Adobe, Canva, and iContact preferred;
- Travel, as necessary.
Salary Range
$70,000 - $120,000 annually. The final title and salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience.
