Job Summary:

As a Primary Care Provider at MAHEC, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a team-based setting. You will assess, diagnose, and treat acute and episodic medical or mental health conditions, working independently or as part of a healthcare team.

Key responsibilities include providing direct patient care, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, analyzing patient data, and developing treatment plans based on best practices and professional guidelines.

You will also be responsible for prescribing medications, counseling patients on drug regimens, and administering in-office medications and infusions as needed.

Additionally, you will provide patient referrals for diagnostic testing or specialist consultation, detect and respond to adverse drug reactions, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Preferred qualifications include experience practicing in an ambulatory primary care setting, with a strong preference for clinical practice in an urgent care or acute care setting.

Required licenses include a current North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license or Physician Assistant License, with NCBME or eligibility for legal approval.

Work hours will be flexible, with regular attendance on-site required. Weekend, holiday, or evening coverage may be occasionally required.
