Advanced Practice Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at MAHEC, Mountain Area Health Education Center. As a key member of our OBGYN department, you will provide exceptional primary health care to obstetrical and gynecological patients, while also participating in residents' education and in-service training for nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide collaborative primary health care to obstetrical and gynecological patients, including history and physical exams, Pap smears, and cervical and vaginal cultures.
- Order and manage laboratory and diagnostic tests, as well as prescribe and manage medications according to protocols and standing orders.
- Manage common gynecological problems, such as sexually transmitted diseases, vaginitis, and abnormal vaginal bleeding.
- Provide education and training to nursing staff and residents, as well as participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- 3 years of experience working as a NP in an OBGYN clinic.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Excellent administrative, planning, and communication skills.
- Spanish speaking skills.
- Interest in psychosocial issues, dermatology, office-based procedures, and sexual health.
This position requires the ability to handle multiple and competing priorities, as well as occasional exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous chemicals.
