Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Liberty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a geriatric setting. This role involves assisting in the direction of nursing services, delegating duties to other nursing personnel, and observing patients for signs of adverse change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in directing nursing services for the unit/hall in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Delegate tasks to professional nurses and non-professional nursing personnel and monitor their work performance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Observe patients for symptoms and reactions, including their general physical and mental condition, for signs indicative of adverse change.
  • Notify attending physicians of emergencies and deaths of patients in the unit, implementing changes in orders as instructed or ordered by physicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing and proof of license renewal every other year.
  • Willingness to work as a charge nurse and during emergencies to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients, follow doctors' orders, and have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
  • CPR certification yearly.
  • Attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required.
