Project Manager - Energy and Utilities

As a Project Manager with Pioneer Management Consulting, you will be part of a dynamic team helping clients and internal business partners solve complex problems and deliver exceptional results. You will work closely with our elite team and clients to apply and develop your critical thinking, analytical, interpersonal, and management skills, all while receiving strong mentorship and career development support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and control of large, complex utility projects (gas & electric, supply, transmission, distribution).
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and lead project teams to achieve project goals.
  • Manage project stakeholders, including senior management, internal departments, and external vendors.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively, ensuring project success.
  • Develop and implement project controls processes to monitor and report on project performance (cost, schedule, quality).
  • Mentor and coach less experienced project managers within the PMO.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required (master's preferred).
  • Extensive experience in project management, ideally within the utilities industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and project controls methodologies.
  • PMP Certification and OSHA 10 or 30 Certification preferred.
  • Comfort handling ambiguity and managing multiple assignments.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively expand professional networks through strategic relationship building and engagement.
  • Positive, collaborative attitude with a willingness to do what it takes to deliver excellent work product and customer experiences.

Location: Pioneer Denver Office: 1550 Wewatta St, Denver, CO 80202

Benefits: Contract position for a long-term multi-year engagement. $100-$135/hour. This is based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skillset and years and depth of experience.
