Chief of Psychiatry at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Chief of Psychiatry at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center and Vice Chair for UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and integration of clinical, education, and research programs at UCSF DPBS, with a focus on promoting excellence in patient care, research, and education.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the development and integration of clinical, education, and research programs at UCSF DPBS
- Lead the psychiatric clinical services at ZSFG in seven divisions, including Acute and Emergency Services, Alliance Health Project, Integrated Behavioral Health and Neuropsychology Services, Citywide Case Management Services, Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Substance Abuse and Addiction Medicine, and Trauma Recovery Services
- Direct an operational budget of $93 million and oversee all DPBS faculty and staff activity at ZSFG
- Provide direct teaching, supervision, and support of education innovations in clinical and research educational programs for medical students, residents, psychology interns, and postdoctoral fellows
- Serve as a key strategic partner for the DPBS Chair and broader leadership team on all missions of the department
- MD or equivalent, Board Certified in Psychiatry, and licensed to practice medicine in California at the time of appointment
- Demonstrated leadership experience in complex clinical systems and administration of a complex organization, including strong financial management skills
- Knowledge or experience in the provision of psychiatric services in an acute general hospital setting
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Knowledge or experience in working with public health/public sector behavioral health services or community-based services
