Job Title: Interpretive Program Coordinator

Are you passionate about science-based education and interpretation? Do you have a knack for creating engaging experiences for the public? We're seeking a highly motivated and creative Interpretive Program Coordinator to join our team at the Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW).

Job Summary:

The Interpretive Program Coordinator will play a key role in developing and implementing interpretive programs for the public, focusing on fish and wildlife conservation and education. This position will work closely with our team to design and deliver engaging experiences that promote awareness and appreciation for California's diverse wildlife and habitats.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement interpretive programs for the public, including educational materials, exhibits, and events.
  • Collaborate with our team to design and deliver engaging experiences that promote awareness and appreciation for California's diverse wildlife and habitats.
  • Conduct research and gather information to inform program development and implementation.
  • Work with our team to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, schools, and other organizations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of educational materials, including brochures, posters, and other visual aids.
  • Provide support for special events and programs, including setup, execution, and teardown.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental education, interpretive services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in interpretive services, education, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Valid California driver's license and ability to travel to various locations throughout the state.
