Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Administrator 2 to join our team at Stanford University's School of Medicine. As a key member of our accounting and finance team, you will be responsible for managing complex research portfolios, preparing proposals, and ensuring compliance with sponsored research guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in proposal preparation, including administrative components and budget development.
  • Oversee submission processes, review documents for completeness, and communicate with principal investigators and sponsors.
  • Develop and finalize project budgets, provide budget justification, and serve as a liaison between principal investigators, Office of Sponsored Research, and other departments.
  • Collaborate with Office of Sponsored Research to ensure awards are set up properly, cost-sharing requirements are fulfilled, and expenditures are reviewed and approved.
  • Develop and communicate reports supporting project status, create effective forecasting and decision aids, and participate in contract closeout processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of job-related experience, or combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of governmental regulations, ability to understand and communicate policies and procedures, and excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong accounting skills, knowledge of accounting principles, and ability to complete Cardinal Curriculum I and II within the first year in the role.
  • Competency in project management, extreme attention to detail, and ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

This position is based in Stanford's Research Park and has the option of a telecommuting/hybrid schedule subject to operational needs.

The expected pay range for this position is $85,000 to $108,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
