Job Summary


The Public Area Team Member is a vital role at Highgate Hotel, responsible for maintaining exceptional standards in all assigned public areas, including lobbies, Business Center, Fitness Center, restaurants, public restrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, offices, elevators, pool areas, parking garages, driveways, and other public spaces. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Responsibilities



  • Maintain High Standards

The Public Area Team Member is responsible for maintaining Highgate Hotel Standards in all assigned public areas. This includes cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, restocking supplies, and ensuring that all areas are well-maintained and clean.


Excellent Communication Skills

The Public Area Team Member must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. They must be able to effectively communicate with guests, managers, and fellow employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.


Attention to Detail

The Public Area Team Member must have a high level of attention to detail, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard and that all areas are well-maintained.


Teamwork

The Public Area Team Member must be able to work effectively in a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to the overall success of the hotel.


Adhere to Schedules

The Public Area Team Member must adhere to schedules for project cleaning of public areas, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.


Maintain Cleanliness and Sanitation

The Public Area Team Member must maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms, ensuring that all areas are well-maintained and clean.


Flexible Scheduling

The Public Area Team Member may be required to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Medium Work

The Public Area Team Member must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.


Ability to Stand

The Public Area Team Member must be able to stand during entire shifts, with regular breaks as needed.


Must be Effective Communicator

The Public Area Team Member must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.


Must be Effective Listener

The Public Area Team Member must be able to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.


Must be Multitasker

The Public Area Team Member must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.


Must be Effective Problem Solver

The Public Area Team Member must be able to handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.


Must be Confidential

The Public Area Team Member must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.


Must be Initiator

The Public Area Team Member must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.


Requirements



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

The Public Area Team Member must have a High School diploma or equivalent.


Experience in a Hotel or Related Field

Experience in a hotel or a related field is preferred. Previous Housekeeping experience is highly preferred.

Salary


The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
