The selected candidate will engage in soil and rock drilling activities, oversee well monitoring, prepare reports, and serve as a key point of contact between the firm and its clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Become proficient in the Company and/or TD filing system within the initial week of employment.
  • Execute geotechnical engineering tasks as instructed.
  • Participate in Company and/or TD meetings as required.
  • Organize and maintain both physical and digital documentation.
  • Communicate with clients and team members as needed.
  • Exhibit professionalism in interactions with colleagues, clients, and the public.
  • Aim for continuous improvement in understanding geotechnical engineering standards and practices.
  • Conduct inspections for drilling activities related to governmental and private sector projects.
  • Review and amend typed logs, boring profiles, and other drafted materials.
  • Perform site assessments to identify geotechnical challenges and gather geological data.
  • Assist in validating drilling contractor quantities and invoices.
  • Draft and evaluate Geotechnical Engineering Reports for various structures, including roadways, bridges, and retaining walls, along with associated calculations and Slope Stability analyses.
  • Ensure accuracy in field and typed boring logs and profiles in line with specifications.
  • Develop Laboratory Testing Plans and assess laboratory results for soil and rock samples.
  • Review solicitations from drilling contractors and statewide contracts.
  • Establish criteria and specifications for subsurface investigations.
  • Draft and analyze Slope Stability studies.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and effective communication, both verbal and written.
  • Collaborate within a team environment and provide mentorship to junior geotechnical staff.
  • Occasionally travel to project locations.
  • Independently manage tasks, organize information, and meet deliverable deadlines.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, including technical scopes of services and cost estimates.
  • Engage with clients, attend project meetings, and foster strong client relationships.
  • Adhere to established schedules and budgets for all projects.
QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate's or technical degree is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Certification as a PennDOT-approved Drilling Inspector is necessary.
  • Familiarity with software programs such as Lpile, GSTABL, Driven, and GRLWEAP is advantageous.
