Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Meat Department Trainee to join our team at Hannaford Supermarkets. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the meat department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the meat department operations, including inventory management, ordering, and receiving.
  • Supervise and train department associates to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality product presentation.
  • Monitor and maintain store appearance, security, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless store operations and achieve business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail operations or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and push/pull up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in meat department operations or a related field.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and develop strategies to drive growth.
  • Strong understanding of customer service principles and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
