Job Overview
The On-Call Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for delivering essential services to maintain a secure and safe atmosphere for various site collections, properties, facilities, visitors, and staff, all while providing exceptional customer service. This role operates within a public setting, ensuring the safety of all individuals present.
Key Responsibilities
  • Vigilantly monitors assigned areas through visual, electronic, or auditory means, engaging in diverse assignments such as conducting regular patrols within the facilities, which may involve extensive walking.
  • Ensures adherence to safety protocols and compliance by both self and others.
  • Utilizes verbal de-escalation techniques to manage situations effectively, prioritizing the safety of employees, customers, and clients.
  • Documents and reports incidents including property damage and unusual occurrences in line with company policies.
  • Issues warnings for rule violations and may take action to apprehend or remove offenders.
  • Facilitates communication by notifying relevant personnel of visitors seeking them.
  • Alerts supervisors regarding any unmet safety and sanitation standards.
  • May undertake additional tasks that contribute to the success of the department.
  • This position does not include supervisory duties.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Preferred experience of at least two (2) years in security, law enforcement, or military roles.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a State of Oklahoma Security Guard License.
  • CLEET certification is mandatory.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, customers, and clients.
  • Capable of making independent decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Safety-oriented, as this role is sensitive to safety considerations.
  • Must be proficient in English; Spanish language skills are advantageous.
  • Must comply with all safety regulations and guidelines set forth by the organization.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
This role requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments, often exposed to varying weather conditions. The noise level is moderate, and the environment is characterized as a public facility. The position necessitates the ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, push, pull, and perform various physical activities, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
