About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Services Assistant to join our team at the University of Maine at Farmington. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and the general public, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Sales and Transactions: Process sales transactions, handle cash and credit card payments, and maintain accurate records of sales and inventory.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking shelves, arranging merchandise, and performing other tasks as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management, including counting and reconciling inventory, and reporting any discrepancies to management.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals, resolve customer issues, and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and basic math skills.
