Position Overview:
The Clinical Nursing Extern is accountable to Trumbull Regional Medical Center for upholding the corporate mission, vision, and values. This role supports Nursing Services by adhering to the philosophy of delivering high-quality, comprehensive patient care and ensures courteous, accurate, and timely service to customers.
Compensation Range: $22.00

Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrollment in an accredited National League of Nursing School (NLN) or The Accreditation Commission for Education Nursing (ACEN)
- Successful completion of at least one nursing fundamentals course
- Completion of at least one hands-on clinical rotation in medical-surgical nursing
- Proof of completion and passing grades from the educational institution required prior to employment
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is mandatory
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of nursing fundamentals.
- Integrate classroom knowledge with practical nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in an acute care, MedSurg environment.
- Fulfill job-specific responsibilities following completion of system-wide, facility, and/or unit-specific orientation.
- Maintain clinical competencies and sufficient knowledge to perform functions as assessed annually.
- Document both objective and subjective data in the appropriate medical records.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
