Job Overview

Position Summary: The Material Handling and MRB Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing non-conforming materials and facilitating Material Review Board (MRB) processes. This multifaceted position is essential for ensuring that non-conforming products are managed effectively, materials are organized within project stockrooms, and repair orders are executed seamlessly.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of Non-Conforming Materials:
    • Monitor and document non-conforming materials throughout the manufacturing workflow.
    • Ensure precise identification, counting, and location tracking of non-conforming items.
    • Execute material transactions and relocate components to designated non-conforming areas.
    • Process and move repair orders based on Material Disposition Reports to appropriate repair locations.
  • Project Material Oversight:
    • Receive and organize incoming project materials in the stockroom.
    • Prepare and assemble kits for project requirements as necessary.
    • Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory levels of project materials.
  • Coordination of MRB Activities:
    • Track and oversee the status of all MRB materials within the facility.
    • Collaborate with various departments (Planning, Engineering, Inspection, Purchasing, etc.) to provide updates on MRB items and facilitate resolution.
    • Ensure timely processing and disposition of all Quality Notifications.
    • Manage the processing of dispositioned materials, including returns to suppliers and scrapping of parts.
    • Generate reports to prioritize open Quality Notifications and assign tasks accordingly.
    • Initiate material transfers, report quality concerns, and maintain accurate records in ERP systems to ensure traceability.
    • Oversee the removal of obsolete or non-conforming materials from production.
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Complete additional projects or tasks as directed by management.
    • Work collaboratively with departments to address ongoing issues and enhance material handling procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a 2-year degree is required; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant work experience (2-4 years) may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in Manufacturing, Production Planning, Non-conforming Materials, or as a Coordinator in a complex, low-volume OEM environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with MRB processes, inventory management, and quality assurance protocols.

Skills:

  • Proficient understanding of ERP Information Systems, particularly SAP.
  • Strong ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across various departments.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational capabilities.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles, production workflows, and material handling practices.

Work Environment:

  • This role involves hands-on responsibilities in both office and warehouse settings, managing physical materials and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure operational efficiency.
