Job Description

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Violence Liaison to join our team. As a key member of our Office of Domestic Violence, you will play a critical role in providing emergency shelter and social services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and a valid Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license issued by the New York State Department of Education. You will be responsible for conducting assessments and screenings to determine the level of services required by clients, providing onsite direct counseling services, and making referrals to social and other services as needed.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners. You will be a team player who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and screenings to determine the level of services required by clients
  • Provide onsite direct counseling services to clients
  • Make referrals to social and other services as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to provide comprehensive support to clients
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and services provided

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work
  • Valid Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license issued by the New York State Department of Education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners
