Position Overview
The Eligibility Specialist, reporting directly to the Program Director, plays a vital role in providing administrative support and performing a diverse range of clerical tasks for the Youth Employment Program. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records of clients, program activities, and office operations. The Eligibility Specialist will conduct interviews and assess applicants to determine their eligibility for program participation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Engage in outreach and recruitment initiatives to fulfill contract performance objectives.
  2. Facilitate eligibility orientations and employment-related workshops.
  3. Prepare orientation materials and checklists for new participants.
  4. Complete and submit all necessary WIOA documentation to the Workforce Development Board.
  5. Verify statistics related to the Workforce Development Board's Management Information System.
  6. Represent the Youth Employment Program at designated job centers.
  7. Maintain and monitor participant status rosters and associated documentation in compliance with contract guidelines.
  8. Manage a database tracking Performance Based Outcomes.
  9. Handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
  10. Conduct follow-up communications with clients who have exited the program.
  11. Provide case management services as required.
  12. Coordinate and procure support services for clients.
  13. Deliver educational sessions to enhance employer and community awareness.
  14. Participate in cross-training for various roles as program needs evolve.
  15. Adhere to all WIOA regulations and guidelines.
  16. Attend mandatory training sessions as needed.
  17. Travel for agency-related business as required.
  18. Maintain a physical presence in the office.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or GED; business college experience is a plus.
  2. A minimum of four years of experience in an office environment.
  3. Proficiency in bookkeeping and business mathematics.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Experience working with individuals facing financial and personal challenges.
  6. Ability to manage sensitive matters with confidentiality and professionalism.
  7. Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.
  8. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and familiarity with Office 365, Teams, and Zoom.
  9. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation that meets insurance requirements.
  10. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  11. Ability to complete a pre-employment physical, drug screening, general physical, and TB test.
