Position Overview: The MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting MRI examinations following established protocols and procedures, utilizing independent judgment to guarantee superior diagnostic quality and exceptional patient care. This role also involves assisting Radiologists with specialized procedures, managing necessary documentation, preparing patients, operating equipment, and performing related clinical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct MRI procedures as per orders, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Guide patients to the examination area and assist with necessary preparations.
  • Complete all required documentation to facilitate timely MRI service delivery.
  • Clarify MRI procedures to alleviate patient concerns and inquiries.
  • Administer intravenous contrast as needed.
  • Implement radiation safety measures to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
  • Complete associated paperwork and secure interpretations from radiologists.
  • Perform quality control checks to monitor equipment performance and report any issues to management.
  • Prioritize customer service, maintaining professionalism in interactions with patients, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution; or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • ARRT (R) (MR) certification and licensure in Connecticut are mandatory.
  • 1-2+ years of hands-on experience in various MRI procedures.
  • Experience with Siemens and GE equipment is preferred.
