We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room
- Prepare and stock the OR before and after surgery
- Gather clean and sterile supplies
- Set up sterile instrument fields
- Maintain and monitor aseptic techniques
- Assist with the orientation of new staff
- Participate on departmental committees
- Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology
- Completion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical center
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology
- Possession of a national Scrub Technician certification
