Cardiac Lab Manager

The Cardiac Invasive Services Supervisor is a key member of the Norwalk Hospital Association team, responsible for the day-to-day management of the Cardiac Lab. This role ensures continuity of patient care, maximum efficiency of patient flow, clinical leadership, and mentoring of personnel. The Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining proper staffing in the cardiac lab and coverage for the On-call program.
Key Responsibilities- Workload Management: Assigns, allocates, and supervises daily workload, evaluating effectiveness and quality of work, and recommending modifications to operating procedures to meet changing work conditions and operating requirements.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Manages cardiac lab schedule, maintains proper staffing levels in the cardiac lab, and ensures coverage for the On-call program.
- Inventory and Equipment Management: Coordinates and maintains inventory par levels and equipment resources, participates in product evaluation, and ensures the flow of communications between referring physicians and interventional cardiologists.
- Staff Development and Support: Fosters a supportive environment for staff growth and development, mentors staff by providing education, demonstrating flexibility, supporting problem solving, and process improvement.
- Leadership and Representation: Represents the department in Leadership committees and interdepartmental initiatives, works with the Director for inventory and budget recommendations, and develops performance goals with staff and conducts performance review.
- Compliance and Other Duties: Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position and performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Level Degree
- Minimum of 3 years Cath Lab/EP experience
- 3 years management experience preferred
- Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Electronic Medical record, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Essential Credentials: Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- IV certification
- PCI experience
The work environment is generally pleasant, with some manual skills and motor coordination required. The role may exert up to 10 lbs. force and is sedentary/light effort.
Salary RangeThe salary range is commensurate with experience.
