Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Unit team at Norwalk Hospital Association. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Assess patients' physical, emotional, and mental health needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet those needs.
- Administer medications, perform medical procedures, and provide wound care as needed.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient education plans, ensuring patients and families are empowered to manage their care.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families, promoting a positive and respectful environment.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (CBL) certification within three months of hire.
- ACLS, PALS/ENPC, TNCC, and trauma hours as per unit standards.
- Non-violent crisis intervention certification as per unit standards.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously. The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a environment with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
