About the Role:
This is a field-based position that requires daily on-site presence and travel to various locations in Central New York State. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of construction professionals, including craftspeople, engineers, and foremen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety protocols, and work rules.
- Manage and ensure customer expectations for quality, schedule, and budget are met.
- Direct the operations portion of the project and interface with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to customers on project progress.
- Strive to improve program margins.
- Report program performance data to management and customers.
- Supervise the construction effort to ensure projects are completed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Plan and supervise on-site functions, including scheduling, engineering, material control, and administrative tasks.
- Supervise craft employees and contractors as required by the contract.
- Provide technical assistance, including interpretation of drawings and recommendations for construction methods and equipment.
- Assist in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, and standards.
- Assume responsibility for productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in utility construction, operations management, construction management, and/or craft supervision.
- Experience in all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control, schedules, and safety.
- Understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards, and their impact on project activities.
- Familiarity with scheduling software applications (Primavera, MS Project).
- Ability to travel extensively and work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range: $91,000 to $130,000 depending on experience and education.
