About the Role:

This position will be responsible for supervising a group of hourly employees in a Manufacturing Operations environment, including allocating work, assigning manpower, and providing leadership and direction. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing work schedules, addressing issues, and engaging the workforce in achieving cell goals. They will also be responsible for communicating with peers, holding employees accountable, and controlling quality, productivity, and process flow to meet MRP requirements. Additionally, they will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is kept in good working order, keeping current on status and recent developments in the plant/industry/profession, and coaching and developing employees through motivating, encouraging, and challenging them. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to drive and deliver results, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of hourly employees in a Manufacturing Operations environment.
  • Establish work schedules and allocate work to meet customer requirements and resource availability.
  • Address issues and engage the workforce in achieving cell goals.
  • Communicate with peers and hold employees accountable for their performance.
  • Control quality, productivity, and process flow to meet MRP requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment is kept in good working order.
  • Keep current on status and recent developments in the plant/industry/profession.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred/2+ years related experience (comparable combination of education & experience will be considered).
  • Direct supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (lean manufacturing, ACE, QCPC).
  • Highly self-directed and able to learn quickly with a strong ability to drive and deliver results.
  • Proven written/verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels.
  • Excellent customer service skills required providing a high level of service to satisfy/fulfill internal or external needs accurately in a timely manner.
  • Organized/detail-oriented, problem-solving, analytical, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
