The Meijer Heart Center Operating Room features a total of 9 surgical suites, including 4 hybrid operating rooms utilized by both vascular and cardiovascular specialties.
Team Overview
The integrated Peripheral Vascular and Cardiovascular team manages a wide range of cases, including but not limited to:
- Peripheral vascular surgeries (AAA, femoral-popliteal bypass, EVAR, angiograms, carotid endarterectomies)
- Cardiothoracic procedures (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting, Valve replacements, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, Robotic surgeries, Ventricular Assist Devices, Transplants, Lung surgeries)

Scope of Work
The Registered Nurse (RN), operating under the ANA scope of practice, employs the nursing process framework to deliver professional nursing care. This includes:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients
- Providing quality care under the guidance of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and procedures
- Recognizing the significance of nursing care and the partnership with patients and families in influencing patient outcomes
- Collaborating with patients and families to incorporate their input and goals into the care plan, as well as developing educational strategies and documenting learning in health records

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (to be obtained within 5 years)
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (to be obtained within 90 days)
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (to be obtained within 6 months)
- Preferred: 6+ months of inpatient RN experience
