Position Summary
We are seeking a Category Analyst who will play a pivotal role in providing essential analytical support for our category management initiatives. This position involves utilizing data to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and pinpoint areas for enhancement within our product categories, ensuring alignment with customer preferences and market trends.
- Evaluate sales patterns, market conditions, and competitive landscape to uncover opportunities and challenges, driving growth within the energy drinks sector.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Product Development, and Supply Chain to execute category strategies.
- Employ data-driven insights to guide assortment decisions and optimize shelf placement.
- Design, oversee, and implement pricing and promotional strategies to enhance product performance.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and strategic partners to foster category growth.
- Present findings, insights, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, utilizing data visualization and presentation tools.
- Stay informed about industry trends and consumer behavior to guide the strategic direction of the category.
- Responsible for the creation and distribution of monthly syndicated scorecards, highlighting key insights and trends.
- Utilize panel data to generate reports on consumer demographics and behavior.
- Collect, organize, and distribute retail sales data from various sources, including POS systems, inventory management systems, and customer databases.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and special projects as needed to support business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in Category Management, preferably within the Beverage sector.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data visualization tools.
- Experience with XLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables is essential; familiarity with PowerBI/Power Pivot & Query is advantageous.
- Proficient in M365 tools such as PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
- Experience with Power Automate is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with syndicated data platforms (SPINS, Nielsen, and IRI) is required.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a commitment to continuous learning.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex data and insights to non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of retail consumer behavior and market dynamics.
- Experience with Blue Yonder (JDA) and/or other major space planning tools is an asset.
- A passion for the beverage industry/CPG and a desire to make a significant impact on our business.
- Bonus points for those with experience in 84.51 Stratum.
