Pipeline Operations Specialist

The Maintenance Specialist, under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for overseeing all pipeline maintenance and construction operations within their designated area. The Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the planning, scheduling, and execution of both routine and non-routine maintenance activities in alignment with company policies, procedures, and regulations. The primary focus will be on pipeline assets in the designated region. However, the Maintenance Specialist may also provide support to other areas within the West Coast Division as directed by management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to procedures, best practices, and equipment standards through collaboration with field maintenance and operations teams. Actively participate in planning processes and budget development alongside the Maintenance Supervisor to facilitate effective long and short-term maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and execution of significant pipeline and terminal construction and maintenance projects assigned to them.
- Supervise and mentor maintenance contractors under their oversight.
- Conduct audits to verify process performance and compliance with regulatory and company policy standards. Provide safety oversight for pipeline and terminal maintenance and construction activities.
- Assist in scheduling pipeline and terminal maintenance downtime, ensuring effective communication and project coordination to maximize downtime efficiency.
- Develop Project Execution Plans, High-Risk Excavation Plans, and Specific Site Safety Plans for maintenance activities within their area of responsibility. Coordinate pipeline and terminal decommissioning and commissioning plans.
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license.
- Willingness and ability to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Work overtime as necessary.
- Work outdoors in challenging weather conditions.
- Wear personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, and ear and eye protection.
- Climb various ladders and stairs to operate valves, gauge tanks, or perform maintenance on equipment; the ladders and stairs typically range from 5 to 40 feet in height.
- Lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Engage in daily activities such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, climbing, and carrying materials on both even and uneven terrain.
- Travel up to 50% of the time or more.
- Working knowledge of pipeline and terminal operations.
- Familiarity with pipeline maintenance procedures, policies, and DOT regulations.
- Currently hold or be able to obtain an Operator Qualification Certificate.
- Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
- Associate's degree or higher.
- Experience supervising employees or contractors.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word; SAP, and Microsoft Projects.
- Knowledge of pipeline integrity programs and assessment techniques.
- Understanding of pipeline rotating equipment and electrical maintenance.

Compensation:
The base pay range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000, depending on a candidate's relevant work experience and education.
