Operations Manager Job Description

At Kimball Equipment, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure all operations are carried out in a cost-effective and efficient manner, aligning with our company's goals and objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance operational management systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee the purchase of materials, coordinate inventory, and optimize warehouse efficiency to minimize costs and maximize productivity.
  • Compliance: Ensure the organization's processes remain legally compliant, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic and operational objectives that align with the needs of the business and industry.
  • Financial Management: Utilize financial data to optimize profitability, oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
  • Human Resources: Assist with recruiting, training, and supervision of staff, ensuring a high-performing team.
  • Customer Service: Enhance customer service quality, tailored to meet the unique demands of our aggregate clientele.
  • Long-Term Planning: Engage in long-term planning to support growth and success in the industry, identifying market opportunities and communicating potential strategies.
  • Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration among outside sales, inside parts sales, warehouse, and corporate teams to drive business success.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify and address operational challenges to maximize efficiency and revenue, assessing and analyzing departmental budgets to find ways to optimize profitability.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous work experience in an equipment dealership is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with business and financial principles, as well as experience with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, leadership ability, interpersonal skills, and strong personal and professional judgment.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly to a shifting reality and adjust initiatives and priorities.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and flexibility to jump from priority to priority.
