Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a compassionate and committed individual to join our team as a Direct Support Professional - DSP. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personalized care and support to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities
  • Assisting with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Implementing individualized care plans and documenting progress and incidents accurately
  • Facilitating social and recreational activities to promote engagement and community involvement
  • Administering medications according to prescribed schedules and maintaining accurate medication records
  • Supporting individuals with mobility and transportation needs, including wheelchair transfers and driving to appointments
  • Communicating effectively with individuals receiving support, their families, and healthcare professionals
  • Monitoring health and reporting changes or concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Encouraging and assisting individuals in developing life skills for greater independence
  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety standards

Schedule and Compensation

This entry-level position offers various day shift, evening shift, night shift, holiday, and weekend schedules. Overnight shifts from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am pay $2.50/hour more. The hourly wage range is $16.78-$18.09.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

Preferred qualifications include experience working with individuals with disabilities and strong interpersonal skills.
