Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled RN Emergency Services PRN to join our team at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare family, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to our hospital's mission of delivering compassionate and high-quality care to our community.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, assess, implement, and evaluate the delivery of care to assigned ER patients.
  • Insert I.V.'s, administer I.V. medications, and begin blood product transfusion as needed.
  • Observe and record patient reactions to medication, I.V. therapy, blood transfusion, and treatment.
  • Triage patients by evaluating their signs and symptoms, recording, and reporting the results.
  • Assist physicians during treatment and examination of patients and process orders in a timely manner.
  • Provide and document patient and family education as needed.
  • Communicate clinical outcomes with patients and families.
  • Perform efficiently with Meditech and coordinate admission through discharge plans with case managers, patients, and families.
  • Actively participate in the orientation of new personnel.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
