About Hampton Inn Benton Harbor
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized professional to join our team as a Front Office Manager at our Hampton Inn location in Benton Harbor, Michigan. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the front desk operations, including managing staff, handling guest requests, and ensuring seamless check-in and check-out processes.
This is a full-time position that requires evenings and weekends, as well as availability to cover shifts in the event of call-offs. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities. Compensation and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $50,000 annually, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes accident, critical medical supplement insurance, dental insurance, employee assistance program, employee hotel room discount, health insurance, health savings account, holiday pay, life insurance, long-term disability, paid time off, paid training, professional development assistance, and vision insurance.
Job Description:
- Manage front office staff and ensure efficient operations
- Provide outstanding customer care and respond professionally to guest inquiries and concerns
- Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize room occupancy and revenue
- Train, direct, and resolve issues for front desk team members
- Maintain accurate processing of hotel charges and invoices
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health regulations
- Correspond with group and travel agents for special requests
- Assist with sales and marketing efforts as directed
- Maintain strong relationships with other departments
- Operate EPBX equipment and manage cash transactions
- Update and action the front office and hotel logbooks
- Follow guest check-in and security procedures
- Take responsibility in the absence of the General Manager
- Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience/training
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented with planning and organizational abilities
- Computer and accounting knowledge
- Alcohol awareness certification and other required certifications
