The Environmental Sustainability Program Coordinator will assist in executing the City's Environmental Sustainability Action Plan under the guidance of the Sustainability Program Manager. Responsibilities may encompass stakeholder engagement, communication strategies, electric vehicle initiatives, and data analysis. Additional tasks may involve supporting city-wide climate action planning and sustainability initiatives.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary contact and/or liaison responsible for the continuous assessment, design, development, implementation, promotion, maintenance, and evaluation of the program.
  • Identify and tailor innovative trends and ideas that align with established strategies and guidelines.
  • Assist in coordinating programs and projects to foster internal and external engagement in city initiatives.
  • Act as a technical resource, providing assistance to various stakeholders, including residents, businesses, staff, and city leadership regarding program details.
  • Oversee and manage daily operations, activities, and logistics, including schedules, data management, resource availability, and facility maintenance.
Physical Demands
Work may be conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments, depending on the program. All roles require frequent sitting, standing, and walking, as well as repetitive motions such as grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Physical activities may include bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Outdoor assignments may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
  • Three years of experience in program coordination and development.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or coursework preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certificates
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License.
