Role Overview

The Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Project Kuiper will play a pivotal role in defining and developing system interfaces, managing requirements, and orchestrating technical initiatives. This position entails direct accountability for the program and project management of system-level development, necessitating a robust technical background in integrated hardware and software development, along with an understanding of complex applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and manage technical requirements for the construction, verification, and validation of intricate testing systems.
  • Break down technical requirements into software and hardware specifications that align with development, manufacturing, and verification testing strategies.
  • Oversee and conduct trade studies and analyses essential for determining the requirements of automated testing station hardware and software.
  • Lead the creation of automated testing processes and equipment to enhance manufacturability.
  • Coordinate and manage numerous dependencies across various engineering disciplines to ensure timely delivery of hardware and software in accordance with program schedules.
  • Develop and refine program and team processes and tools as necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a solid foundation in project management methodologies and tools, demonstrating proficiency in core project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, and risk management, along with reporting and metric development/tracking.

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

About the Team

The Project Kuiper team is dedicated to launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will deliver low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities globally.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical product or program management.
  • 3+ years of direct collaboration with engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 3+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams.
  • Experience in managing programs across cross-functional teams, establishing processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
  • Experience in managing projects across cross-functional teams, developing sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience in defining KPIs/SLAs to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is influenced by multiple factors, including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, and depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
