Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including vital sign measurements, updating health information, and administering medications as needed.
  • Document patient information, including vital signs, assessment, and encounter type, into our electronic medical record system.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and other staff members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Assist with minor medical procedures, such as hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsies, and Pap smears, under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain patient workflow, ensuring timely and efficient care delivery, and coordinate with physicians and nurses to meet scheduling requirements.
  • Order and schedule lab tests, review results, and annotate appropriate dispositions.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, including disinfection and restocking of supplies.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and sterilization, identifying needs for supplies, parts, or repairs.
  • Order and maintain back-office supplies, reconciling monthly receipts and packing slips for submission to the business office.
  • Scan signed consents, office appointment forms, laboratory, and pathology reports into the EMR system.
  • Monitor medicine cabinets and refrigerators, ordering medications as needed.
  • Perform urine pregnancy tests, document results, and communicate with healthcare providers.
  • Autoclave used instruments, document size and type, and change sterile/cleaning solutions.
  • Clean stationary room equipment, exam tables, and provide clean linens and supplies for patient rooms.
  • Maintain HIPAA and confidentiality for all patient and clinic information.
  • Report concerns regarding potential domestic violence and child abuse issues to the Medical Director or Practice Administrator.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) credential required.
  • BCLS certification required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • 1+ year Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nursing experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 200 successful blood draws required (with documentation).
Working Conditions

This role operates in a professional office, clinical, and/or laboratory setting. The employee will interact with others and ensure compliance with medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and organizational policies to maintain the highest standards of care and patient and staff safety.
