PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guides clients in selecting suitable frames and lenses tailored to their individual needs.
- Informs clients about diverse options for clear lenses, sunglasses, and other eyewear necessities.
- Ensures accurate fitting and measurements for various lens types, including single vision, bifocal, and progressive lenses.
- Informs clients about the advantages of having multiple pairs of eyewear to address all vision requirements.
- Confirms patient insurance details and clarifies their benefits.
- Dispenses eyewear and educates clients on adapting to new prescriptions and lens types.
- Assists clients with repairs and adjustments as needed.
- Ensures timely responses to client inquiries and keeps them updated on any delays related to their eyewear orders.
- Supports other office tasks as required.
- Preferred experience in edging, finishing, and surfacing within a lab environment.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Customer Service: Must demonstrate exceptional customer service abilities, ensuring every client interaction exceeds expectations.
- Sales: Show strong relationship-building skills with clients and the ability to educate them on their options, leading to successful transactions.
- Team Collaboration: Must be a cooperative team member and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with manufacturing software, payroll systems, spreadsheet applications (Excel), inventory management, order processing, project management tools, and word processing software (Word).
- Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines and operational instructions. Capable of writing routine reports and communicating effectively with groups.
- Optical Expertise: Prior optical experience is preferred.
- Flexibility: This role requires adaptability to assist in various office functions as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent; two to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to effectively perform the essential functions of this position. Must be capable of sitting for extended periods, viewing a computer screen for long durations, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Hand dexterity and coordination between vision and hand movements are essential. The employee will work in an indoor environment.
