Job Summary

VitalCore Health Strategies, a leading provider of correctional healthcare services, is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Berrien County Jail in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act.
  • Monitor patients as directed by the HSA, DON, RN, or Medical Director or other practitioner.
  • Implement nursing care within the LPN's scope of practice, including compliance with all laws as applicable in the practice setting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of teaching plans based on the individual needs of the patient.
  • Administer medications and provide for the care of multiple patients as directed by the HSA, DON, or Registered Nurse.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  • Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
  • Possesses an active CPR certification.
  • Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
