Britten, a veteran-owned creative production house, is seeking a skilled Painting and Coating Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our studio, you will be responsible for bringing our projects to life through the skilled application of finish coatings.
Key Responsibilities- Apply paint and other coatings manually and with spray applicators to achieve high-quality finishes.
- Spray multiple types of finishes, paints, and coatings to various materials, ensuring precise application and adherence to specifications.
- Sand and smooth items in preparation for finishing, paying attention to detail and quality.
- Read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings to understand project specifications and desired results.
- Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements and standards.
- Work with glues and bonding materials to assemble and prepare materials for finishing.
- Use power tools and hand tools to cut and prepare materials for assembly and finishing.
- Follow all safety standards and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep the shop and work area clean and organized, adhering to company standards.
- Work with a sense of urgency to meet short deadlines without compromising quality.
- Experience in commercial, residential, or auto body repair and finish work is preferred but not required.
- Experience with PPG or Matthews paint mixing systems is strongly considered.
- Familiarity with a variety of paint finish techniques on diverse substrates is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings is necessary.
- Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming is required.
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills are essential for this role.
- A keen eye for color detail and a results-driven approach are necessary for success in this position.
- Outstanding written, email, and oral communication skills are required.
- Able to lift up to 50-70 pounds unassisted.
- Repetitive motion, substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Standing for sustained periods of time.
- Feeling and perceiving attributes of objects by touching with skin.
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
- Subject to noise and atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin.
