Job Title: Foam Sculptor/Fabricator

Britten, a veteran-owned creative production house, is seeking a skilled Foam Sculptor/Fabricator to join our team. With a focus on delivering innovative signage, displays, and event branding solutions, we're looking for a talented individual to help us bring our clients' visions to life.

Job Summary:

We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Foam Sculptor/Fabricator to work with various materials, including foam, wood, metals, and plastics. The ideal candidate will have excellent hand-eye coordination, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with various materials to complete creative projects
  • Read shop drawings to assess projects and assemble materials to specifications
  • Apply paint and other coatings manually and with spray applicators
  • Use power tools and hand tools to cut and prepare raw materials for assembly
  • Sand various materials for different finishes
  • Apply decals to various materials
  • Inspect finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
  • Document each step in the process
  • Follow all safety standards and procedures
  • Keep the shop and work area clean and organized
  • Work with a sense of urgency to meet short deadlines without compromising quality
  • Cross-train and assist in other departments as needed

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Repetitive motion, substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips
  • Visual acuity to perform activities such as operating machines, performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks, and determining the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work
  • Subject to noise, sufficient to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level
  • Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Atmospheric conditions, one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
