Senior Level Accountant Job Description

Pequot Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic corporate financial team. This role involves managing and analyzing financial information while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Financial Analysis: Accurately record and analyze revenues and expenses.
  • Accounting Discrepancies: Resolve accounting discrepancies and prepare journal entries.
  • Financial Reporting: Create monthly financial reports and support budget activities.
  • Accounts Administration: Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll administration.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor taxation issues.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise accounting staff's output to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Annual Audit: Assist with preparation for the annual outside auditor's financial statements and review process.
  • Inventory Management: Manage and administer controls and reporting procedures for the inventory system.
  • Financial Guidance: Offer guidance to corporate staff in resolving complex financial problems.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in financial analysis or accounting.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and ERP systems.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and communication skills.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) required; Field of Study: Accounting or related field.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Computer Skills: Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other MS Office programs, higher-level accounting programs, and ERP software; 10-key calculator.

Other Requirements: Business casual dress guidelines; willingness and ability to cover other team members' duties when absent; ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality; must work well with fellow team members.
