Pediatric Hematology Oncology Specialist

The University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pediatric Hematology Oncology Specialist to join our team in the Department of Pediatrics. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting interdisciplinary research at the interface of nanoscience and regenerative medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate project activities and collaborative efforts, reporting directly to the Principal Investigator.
- Oversee the development of technology platforms for cellular therapy manufacturing and characterization of cell products.
- Supervise, mentor, and teach undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, as well as postdoctoral trainees and staff research associates.
- Communicate effectively with scientists, regulatory personnel, biotech companies, and other scientific personnel worldwide.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication and assist with grant proposals and progress reports.
- PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in Bioengineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or related life science fields.
- Background in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, mRNA therapeutics, and micro/nanofabrication techniques.
- Experience in cell culture, cell biology, molecular biology, immunofluorescence/flow cytometry, next-generation sequencing techniques, gene editing methods, and biochemical techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a diverse and interdisciplinary research environment.
- Ability to multitask and quickly adapt to new research challenges.
- Experience in device design and characterization, three-dimensional printing, and microfluidic devices.
- Desire to engage and mentor students across different academic disciplines.
