We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Executive Director of the Education Insights Center at OPT FOR HEALTHY LIVING. This is a unique opportunity to lead a self-supporting unit that focuses on research, evaluation, and capacity building related to practice and policy with the goal of continually improving student success.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Center, ensuring the quality and integrity of its purpose, vision, and services.
- Direct the Center's projects, grants, contracts, budget, and personnel, while adhering to campus and university auxiliary policies.
- Lead efforts to secure funding through grants, partnerships, and other sources.
- Collaborate with the Dean to ensure the strategic planning, visioning, and direction of the Center aligns with the mission, priorities, and needs of the CSU system and broader educational community.
- Master's degree in public policy/administration, education, educational psychology, educational leadership, economics, political science, sociology, or other fields requiring statistical analysis and social science research.
- At least ten years of advanced professional and/or research experience in a self-supported/funded community, academic, non-profit, consulting, research or related settings, with at least five of those years in a leadership/management role incorporating education policy, research or evaluation, and/or professional learning.
- Demonstrated initiative in the development and implementation of business planning and strategic visioning and direction for an equity-focused organizational unit.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing research, evaluation, and/or professional learning efforts that advance equitable student success.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with minoritized student populations.
- Experience with equity-minded supervision and management.
- Record of accomplishment of successful fundraising and stewarding of funder relationships.
- Demonstrated success in the strategic financial management of a department or other unit.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituents.
- Broad understanding and knowledge of contemporary California's K-12 and higher education systems, policies, and issues.
- Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Experience with grant writing and management.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management.
