Under general supervision, the incumbent will carry out a comprehensive range of responsibilities, which may include rotational or specialized assignments.
The Patient Financial Services Specialist II plays a crucial role in preparing patient accounts to generate and issue billing statements for services rendered.
This position involves interviewing patients, assessing their financial resources, establishing payment arrangements, conducting collections, and performing other related tasks as assigned.
Key Responsibilities- Review, verify, and correct patient financial status and payer source information.
- Interview patients and their families regarding financial resources and eligibility for coverage.
- Utilize a computerized patient account system to enter data and operate efficiently.
- Prepare and send individual, insurance, governmental, and crossover bills for medical services.
- Evaluate and process accounts for collections and follow-up activities.
- Collaborate with various service providers and payors to resolve billing issues.
Applicants should possess a combination of experience, education, and/or training that demonstrates the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- In-depth understanding of billing procedures and operations in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with insurance, workers' compensation, and governmental payer requirements.
- Ability to perform arithmetic computations accurately and efficiently.
- Proficient in data entry and operation of common office equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with diverse individuals.

Employees may be required to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
