Job Title: Certified Counselor - DUI Program

Neighborhood House of North Richmond is seeking a qualified Certified Counselor to join our team as a DUI Program Counselor.


Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the DUI Program Counselor will facilitate prevention education classes, group sessions, and individual counseling for DUI Program participants. The successful candidate will be responsible for charting and maintaining accurate participant records in accordance with DUI Program operation guidelines and California Title 9 Regulations.


Responsibilities:
  • Schedule clients to education and small group sessions
  • Conduct enrollment, orientations, and process paperwork
  • Track and document participant progress weekly
  • Orientate clients on program participation requirements
  • Keeping accurate charts and case files of all participants assigned
  • Submit problem cases when necessary to Program Director
  • Facilitate education classes, group, and face-to-face sessions
  • Prepare participant reinstatement worksheet and agreements
  • Prepare participant program conversion worksheet agreements
  • Provide participants with information regarding community resources when appropriate
  • Maintains client case records and does technical client charting
  • Prepares reports as required
  • Participates in meetings, committees, and or training when assigned
  • May act as a backup when needed to cover absent DUI Counselor
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Possession of valid California Motor vehicle Operators License
  • Bi-lingual
  • Two (2) years of full-time experience counseling persons in a substance abuse program or its equivalent
  • Certification as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor issued by California Association of Alcohol/Drug Education (CAADE), California Association of DUI Treatment Programs (CADTP), or California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP)
